Eddy current brake
Eddy current electromagnetic braking technology is one of the non-adhesive electromagnetic braking technologies for trains. Its braking force is not affected by the adhesion coefficient between wheel and rail, and its braking effect is stable and reliable. It is one of the future development directions of high-speed train braking technology. Eddy current electromagnetic braking device uses eddy current braking force to realize train braking, and has eddy current braking and friction braking functions. The device is suspended at the bottom of the train through special suspension, and there is a gap between the bottom wear plate and the rail during normal running. When the train is braking at high speed, the braking device produces alternating magnetic field, and the rail cutting magnetic field line and induces eddy current, and at the same time produces the force opposite to the train running direction, that is, the eddy current braking force. When the train speed is lower than the critical value, the brake device and rail attract, friction brake through the bottom wear plate and rail.
